Tara joined the Foundation in 2017 and manages all inquires from prospective grantees, communicating the Foundation’s strategic priorities and grantmaking process. She previously worked in community corrections, assisting individuals on probation develop crucial life and employment skills ahead of reentry to their communities. Tara also served as a U.S. Deputy Court Clerk in Hartford for the United States District Court. She earned a Bachelor’s degree from the University of Connecticut.
What do you enjoy most about Greater Hartford?
I enjoy being outside — walking, exploring. I love the diversity of landscape and local characteristics that help shape the unique identities of the communities we serve.

Are you involved in any volunteer activities?
I’m an elected member of my community’s Board of Education, serving on the both the board’s committees on Budget and Policy. I also coach for my town’s youth soccer association. And if there’s any sort of litter-related clean-up... count me in!
