Hartford Foundation for Public Giving Launches New Website Focused on Early Childhood

In an effort to improve the early childhood field by bringing together parents, professionals and other partners who work in various sectors of early childhood, the Hartford Foundation has launched the Early Childhood Collaborative (www.HFPGcollaborative.org) website. This new online platform allows parents, early childhood professionals and others to learn, share and work together to improve outcomes for all children. The site provides access to the latest research, as well as proven effective practices at the local, regional, state and national level.

“In this ever-changing field, it's often challenging to keep up,” said Richard Sussman, the Hartford Foundation’s director of early childhood investments. “We've created this new website as a one-stop location to connect parents, teachers, and other early childhood and family service providers with information, learning and the ability to network with others on important early childhood topics.”

The Early Childhood Collaborative site will focus on a new topic every few months, the first topic to be covered is on developing resilience in young children and includes a variety of articles, videos, documents, curriculum and other resources. The site also includes links to news articles and upcoming events related to the field. Membership in the Early Childhood Collaborative is free and fulfills the professional organization requirement for a Childhood Development Associate credential.  An animated video  was produced to promote the new site and highlight the various roles individuals play in supporting the healthy growth and development of young children and how the new website can support these efforts.
