A Tribute to Sharon O'Meara From the Hartford Foundation Board of Directors

The members of the Board of Directors of the Hartford Foundation for Public Giving are deeply saddened by the passing of Sharon O'Meara, Director of Community Investments. In her twenty years at the Foundation, Sharon embodied the mission and values of this organization, and her legacy can be seen throughout our community. She was a true champion for nonprofits large and small. The outpouring of gratitude and appreciation for Sharon from friends and colleagues around the state and beyond, has touched us all very deeply.

We will miss Sharon's passion, her intellect, her quick wit, her innovative approach, and especially her knack of bringing a sense of warmth and camaraderie to all she did.

To Sharon's spouse Cheryl Coutsonikas, her extended family, the Foundation staff, with whom she worked so closely, and to all who were touched by Sharon, we share in your sorrow. Like you, we feel fortunate to have known her, and will carry her work forward in the communities we serve.
