Knight Foundation
The Knight Foundation is a national foundation that invests in journalism and the arts, and fosters informed and engaged communities.
The Latino population is one of the fastest growing in Greater Hartford. Our voice and our issues matter—and you can contribute to advancing them.
The Latino Endowment Fund at the Hartford Foundation for Public Giving was established in 2003 by local Latino leaders. This innovative fund is among the first of its kind in the country. Through it, members come together to address the challenges facing Latino residents, and then award grants (averaging $20,000) to strengthen organizations serving them with meaningful solutions. The Fund has awarded nearly $200,000 in support of a broad range of issues including education, youth mentoring, workforce development and immigration.
You can become a member of the Latino Endowment Fund for a minimum annual contribution of $365. And now, you can double the value of your investment. All contributions to the Fund will be matched dollar for dollar, thanks to a $50,000 matching grant from the Knight Foundation. The match applies to new and renewing memberships, as well as donations. Gifts of any size are appreciated and help increase the Fund’s annual grantmaking.
Let’s learn and work towards a common purpose. Let’s examine critical issues affecting Latinos in Greater Hartford and invest in meaningful solutions, together.
*UPDATE: We have reached our $50,000 match! As a result, we are no longer matching donations. Thanks to all who contributed.
