New Volunteer Committee Chairs
Volunteers are an integral part of the Hartford Foundation’s work. In addition to the individuals who serve on our board of directors, the Foundation is fortunate to have the help of many volunteers who serve on our advisory committees. Bob White has been appointed chair of the Catalyst Endowment Fund Steering Committee. Bob is a partner in the law firm of Murtha Cullina LLP and practices in the area of business reorganizations, bankruptcy, commercial litigation and mediation. He is an officer of the board of the Connecticut Rivers Council, Boy Scouts of America. Through the C.A.R.E program, he has taught financial literacy to high school students. Bob and his wife, Mary Ellen, have been members of Catalyst since 2001. They live in West Hartford.
John R. Ivimey, of Chester, has been named chair of the Professional Advisory Committee. John, an attorney, is a stockholder at Reid & Reige, PC. He is chairman of the State Tax Subcommittee of the Estates and Probate Section of the Connecticut Bar Association and practices in the areas of estate planning, business succession planning, and probate litigation among other areas. He is a Fellow of the American College of Trust and Estate Counsel.
New Staff
Louise Galvin joined the Foundation as Human Resources Officer. Louise’s experience includes human resources and nonprofit leadership positions, most recently as human resources director for Advanced Radiology Consultants. She is a member of the Society for Human Resources Management and Employment Management Association.
Betsy Johnson joined the Foundation as Nonprofit Support Program Associate, following six years as project manager at Payne, Forrester & Associates, LLC. Prior to that, Betsy spent twelve years as a senior paralegal for Danaher, Tedford, Lagnese & Neal, PC.
