Next Grant Round Announced

For the first time, the Bloomfield Greater Together Community Fund will hold a second grant round this calendar year. Applications will open in mid-August and are due by October 1.

Amounts from $500 to $10,000 will be awarded in grant funds to selected proposals. All projects must benefit the residents of Bloomfield. 
 


The Hartford Foundation for Public Giving has established a Greater Together Community Fund for the Town of Bloomfield.

The purpose of the Greater Together Community Funds program is to:

  • support the community in taking ownership around the needs in their towns
  • encourage broad and inclusive civic engagement and
  • anchor the Hartford Foundation in each town.

Bloomfield Public Art Commission $2,500 to help fund the first Bloomfield Drum Festival

Brown Girls Counseling $4,650 for support of the Mental Health in the College Transition Workshops

Chicks Ahoy Farm, Inc. $3,900 for #coop2kitchen Outreach Pathway to Agriculture

Connecticut Science Center $5,175 for Investigate! STEM Career Academy for Carmen Arace Middle School students

Gripp Productions $2,000 to help fund the Bloomfield Winter Concert Series

HEDCO Inc. $5,000 to expand their wide array of programs, support services and resources to small businesses and small business owners in Bloomfield

Ironwood Community Partners Inc. $1,100 to fund the "Bloomfield People, Places and Events" program in collaboration with Carmen Arace Middle School and Oliver Filley House events

Seniors Job Bank $3,000 to support “Next Chapter Success” a program that provides essential skills for mature workers

Traprock Ridge Land Conservancy $2,700 to provide “Forest Bathing” for middle school students through guided hikes and mindfulness training

UR Community Cares $2,975 to help provide the program “Empowering Bloomfield Seniors with Technology”

West Indian Independence Celebration (WIIC) Inc. $2,000 to help fund “Blooming Bloomfied” engaging youth in West Indian Culture

  • Bloomfield Junior Warhawks: $2000 to help fund the Junior Warhawks new 6U football program and expansion of the Cheer program
  • Imagine College: $10,000 to support Imagine College college preparation program at Bloomfield High School
  • Interval House: $3000 to help fund Interval House's "Breaking the Cycle" program that supports Bloomfield residents experiencing domestic violence
  • Ironwood Community Partners: $900 to fund the "Bloomfield People, Places and Events" program in collaboration with Carmen Arace Middle School and Wintonbury Historical Society
  • Junior Achievement of Southwest New England, Inc: $2000 to support economic empowerment programs for Laurel Literacy Academy students
  • Wintonbury Historical Society: $8000 to fund roof and ceiling repair of the Old Farm School

The role of the Committee is to design and lead an inclusive process to identify the needs in your community, and design a grantmaking process aimed to ensure that the Greater Together Community Funds can have the greatest impact for the benefit of town residents.
