As the state and local municipalities continue to reduce funding for human services programs, nonprofits in our region are serving an increasing number of individuals and families struggling to make ends meet.

Thankfully, the Foundation’s generous donors also continue to take up the fundamental call to help their neighbors secure basic necessities such as food, housing and utilities.

The Foundation helps direct dollars where they are needed most, whether from donor-advised or unrestricted funds. Grants awarded in the basic human needs category touch almost every town in our region and cover a wide range of provisions that supply aid and connect individuals and families with critical support services.
